Welcome to the NBA Cat Club

NBA Cat Club was first formed as a Yahoo Group for Novice Breeders over 4 years ago.

There are a lot of new breeders starting out in the feline world every year, many of whom are too frightened to ask for help in case of being ridiculed. Of these, some may end up becoming Back Yard Breeders through lack of guidance and support. Therefore it was decided that there was a real need for a Novice Breeders Advice (NBA) group.

NBA (Novice Breeders Advice) is a Yahoo group where all breeders get together, from those just choosing their breed, up to those who have been breeding for over 30 years. Between us we have a wide range of experience . At this present time there are well over 500 breeders in the group with quite a few international members.

In 2003 it was decided by the Group's owner, and the Group's moderator, that a club would be formed. The aim of the club would be to continue the good work of the NBA group and to provide more of a social hands on experience, which would include breeder seminars, annual get togethers and a website for members. The club organised its first ever seminar in May 2004 which proved a huge success and it was decided that this would be turned in to an annual event.

After working very hard in forming the club and organising seminars etc, it was decided that to progress the club further there needed to be a committee put in place, nominations were received and on August 24th 2004 a new committee was put in place, you can click here to learn more.
